We here at White Mountain Trapping want to welcome you to our site.

We have developed this site as a tool for people interested in taking their trappers course and as a quick reference for experienced trappers as well.

The trapping tradition over the years has died out and we would like to help education upcoming trappers and to encourage future trappers as well. Trapping is generally not something people jump into it will be something that has passed down from generation to generation. We as trappers need to educate as many of our friends what trapping is all about and encourage them to join in on our yearly adventure.

In addition to the information we provide on this site we can recommend the NTA Trapping Handbook. It is a good study guide for the require trappers training course it has proven to be a good reference book to have as well.

The NTA Trapping Handbook not only covers the early American trappers but also covers furbearer management objectives, responsibilities, fur handling skill, and outdoor safety. Most of the common furbearers are also covered separately with information including their descriptions, distribution maps, track and sign identification, biology, values, diseases and recommended trapping methods.

We hope you enjoy your visit
